🔧 How to Replace the Tongue Swivel Jack on Your SylvanSport GO Camper

Is your GO camper jack starting to show its age? Whether it's wear and tear or you're just looking to upgrade, replacing your tongue swivel jack is a quick and manageable DIY task for most outdoor adventurers.

Below, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process for swapping it out and getting back on the road (or trail) with confidence. 💪 Note: If your GO is a 2019 model or older, be sure to keep your existing snap ring.

🛠️ What You’ll Need:

  • Floor jack (not the trailer’s tongue jack)

  • Jack stands

  • Socket or wrench set

  • Your new GO Tongue Swivel Jack

Note: If your GO is a 2019 model or older, be sure to keep your existing snap ring.

âś… Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Secure the Trailer

  • Park your GO on a flat, level surface.

  • Chock the wheels for safety.

  • Use a floor jack to lift the trailer frame (not the tongue jack!).

  • Support the frame securely with jack stands before you begin removal.

2. Remove the Old Jack

  • Detach any foot or wheel attachments by removing the retaining pins or clips.

  • Unbolt the jack from the trailer tongue. (Some models may have welds—if so, professional help may be required.)

  • If you have a swivel-style jack, disengage the swivel lock before removal.

3. Install the New Jack

  • Align the new swivel jack with the tongue’s mounting holes.

  • Re-insert and tighten the mounting bolts.

  • Reattach the foot or wheel if applicable.

4. Lower the Trailer

  • Slowly and safely lower the GO back to the ground using the floor jack.

  • Remove the jack stands and stow your tools.

5. Test It Out

  • Crank the new jack to raise and lower the tongue.

  • Make sure the swivel action locks and unlocks smoothly.
